Miguel Veloso has left Genoa and joined Dynamo Kiev today, ending a two-year stint in Serie A.
The Portuguese international, who helped his country to a semi-final berth at Euro 2012 this summer, has joined Ukrainians Dynamo, who will be competing in the Champions League next term.
Veloso, who was reportedly keen to leave Genoa this summer, had the move confirmed via Dynamo’s website on Thursday morning.
The 26-year-old, who made 49 League appearances for the Grifone between 2010 and 2012, explained his reasons for the move in an interview on Dynamo’s official website.
“I learned of Dynamo’s interest during the European Championships. I really liked the fact that the team set the highest goals in national and European competition.
“Dynamo’s history is very prestigious, and all these factors played in favour of my choice.
“I was aware of interest from a number of clubs, but the directors at Dynamo were the most persistent in negotiations.
“I also liked the fact that this is a club with great history and ambition and I’m very satisfied to again be able to play in the Champions League.”
