Lorenzo Insigne is likely to stay with Napoli for next season, and will be handed a new contract too, confirms his agent.
The youngster has impressed whilst out on loan in recent seasons, but has been recalled this summer and has already had a place in Napoli’s pre-season camp confirmed.
That looks likely to stretch into the season proper, suggests his representative, because the Partenopei look unlikely to replace Ezequiel Lavezzi, who was sold this week to Paris Saint-Germain.
“Napoli are looking to Insigne and at this time are not considering the possibility of his departure,” confirmed Antonio Ottaiano to Calcionews24.com.
“Does Lavezzi’s sale prompt another arrival? I don’t know, but I doubt that the situation will change. There will be a contract renewal for Insigne, this is the will of Napoli and so they can protect themselves.
“In my opinion there really are no issues, the player will remain with Napoli and whilst we enjoy the interest of clubs like Sampdoria, I must say that we are not taking any offers into account.”
