Napoli are expected to agree a new long-term contract with their promising youngster Lorenzo Insigne this week, Sky Sport Italia reports.
The skilful attacker shone on loan with Pescara in Serie B last season, alerting several clubs to his potential.
Napoli have always been keen to guarantee Insigne’s future is with them, but have struggled to agree a new contract that reflects their faith in his ability to step up a Division.
However, after Insigne rejected their first approach it seems an agreement is edging closer and will be completed in the coming week.
It remains unclear how much the new deal will be worth, or how long Insigne will put pen to paper for.
The 21-year-old is expected to be one of Napoli’s four main strikers next season, helping to fill the vacancy that Ezequiel Lavezzi left.
