Lazio have suffered a blow ahead of this weekend's Rome derby as Fernando Muslera has undergone tests to determine the severity of a muscle injury.
The Uruguay international goalkeeper missed training in order to have a scan at the Paideia Clinic in Rome.
It appears as though he has not torn anything, but Lazio's medical staff will monitor the situation every 24 hours.
"I am optimistic," Muslera said when asked about his condition.
Lazio will be keen to recover the 24-year-old, especially in light of Giuseppe Biava's suspension.
The Biancocelesti will be top of Serie A no matter what happens on Sunday as they have a four-point lead.
