Ciro Immobile expects former Pescara teammate Marco Verratti to soon complete a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
The midfielder was previously targeted by both Juventus and Napoli this summer, but it looks like PSG are ready to meet the club’s €12m asking price.
“Marco is a really strong player and he deserves the best,” the Genoa striker, who spent last term on loan at Pescara, told Sky Sport Italia.
“He made the difference at Pescara and he’s happy because he has now found a club who really want him.
“He’ll go and play in a beautiful and important city – it will be a great experience for him.”
Talks between the newly promoted Serie A club and the French capital outfit are still on-going for the 19-year-old, but a deal is close.
“We’ll have to wait for a few more days,” the player’s agent, Donato Di Campli, told Radio CRC on Tuesday.
“Paris SG are strongly interested and the two clubs are finalising details. It will then be up to us to make a definite decision.”
