The agent of Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic has insisted that Serie A will lose its last great player when his client completes a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Milan have accepted a fee for the Swedish ace and he is set to follow Thiago Silva to the French capital once Mino Raiola concludes talks over personal terms.
“When he is gone, there will not be any big players in Italian football left,” Raiola told French newspaper L’Equipe.
“In my opinion, Zlatan is the best player in the world. He has the soul of a winner. He is a player who, on his own, can make a stadium sparkle.
“Zlatan will make Ligue 1 more interesting and his departure will make Serie A poorer.
“He is powerful, elegant and has wonderful technique. I hope the French fans will enjoy watching him play. His arrival at PSG would be an exceptional event as, usually, we only see that kind of deal in England.
“Now, it is possible in Paris, this fascinating and magnificent capital. Besides the city, we are really interested in PSG's project. What is happening at the club is exciting.”
Despite hours of talks, PSG have yet to match the salary demands of the former Juventus, Inter and Barcelona player.
“Is he unsure of moving here? If Zlatan had a problem with the idea of playing in France then I would not have come to Paris for three days,” Raiola continued.
“I like PSG sporting director Leonardo a lot, he is a great person who is doing a very interesting job, but not to the point of coming to his office for three days just to have coffee.
“The way I see things, either you have a deal or you do not – there is nothing in between.
“Right now, nothing is settled. We will keep working as every detail is important in a contract. But I hope to find a deal with PSG. This weekend is a time for reflection.”
The Gazzetta dello Sport is today claiming that the forward is hoping for a €14.5m a season deal to protect himself from possible new tax legislation in the country.
