Only an appendix operation is delaying Juan Cuadrado's move to Fiorentina as the Udinese exodus continues apace.
The Zebrette – who finished third in Serie A last season and will contest a Champions League qualifier next month – have already sold midfielders Kwadwo Asamoah and Mauricio Isla to Juventus, goalkeeper Samir Handanovic to Inter.
The Gazzetta dello Sport report that a deal has now been concluded with Fiorentina to send Cuadrado to the Stadio Artemio Franchi on loan, giving the Viola an option to buy half the player's contract for €5m next summer.
The only thing holding the transfer up is the need for Cuadrado to undergo an operation for acute appendicitis.
Cuadrado is a versatile Colombian international who can play as a right full-back, winger or wing forward.
He has made 36 appearances for Udinese since signing from Independiente Medellin in 2009, but spent last season on loan at Lecce, scoring three Serie A goals during his time down south.
The news will further enrage those fans who recently protested about the club's transfer policy, releasing a statement which asked: “If there are limited resources we don't understand why they continue to invest in foreign teams,” a reference to the Pozzo family's purchases of Granada and Watford.
