Reports in Italy claim Adrian Mutu has apologised to Fiorentina patron Andrea Della Valle.
Mutu walked out of a training session earlier this month without the club's permission after his agent revealed that talks regarding his future had reached an impasse.
He is currently off the market and Fiorentina are considering legal action, releasing a statement in which they claim that the player hasn't fulfilled his contractual obligations.
In the meantime, Romania boss Razvan Lucescu intends to call up Mutu even though he has been frozen out of Fiorentina's first team squad.
Asked about the European Championship in 2012, Lucescu said: "I see Romania with Mutu."
It remains unclear whether the 32-year-old will be called up to represent his country in the Cyprus Cup, which is a friendly tournament to be held in the first two weeks of February.
