Turkish outfit Fenerbahce are dreaming of making a move for Inter playmaker Wesley Sneijder this summer.
The Dutchman has been the subject of transfer speculation this summer, with a link to Russian side Anzhi lingering despite his denials.
Fenerbahce’s President has thrown his club into the ring of interested parties, as a way to improve morale for fans. The club and its owner have been embroiled in investigations over alleged match-fixing.
“The risk of being disqualified for the scandal has really bothered us,” Aziz Yildirim is quoted as declaring today.
“Now, our fans deserve a present - Wesley Sneijder.”
Sneijder, who is currently valued at €25m, today posted on Twitter his latest denial of a departure from Inter, confirming that he would be rejoining his teammates for pre-season training.
