Despite scoring four goals in Udinese’s first pre-season game of the summer, Luis Muriel has received some sharp criticism from Coach Francesco Guidolin.
The Colombian youngster is back with the Zebrette this summer after impressing whilst out on loan last year at Lecce.
However, despite a strong performance to net four of Udinese’s 10 goals last night against Arta Cedarchis, Muriel has not impressed Guidolin.
“First of all I must say that Muriel needs to lose weight, at least five kilograms before speaking with me,” the tactician told reporters.
“He must discover the silhouette of an athlete. To be at the top and in order to be considered an athlete then you must have the physique and you must work hard.”
Guidolin also briefly commented on the decision to stick with the 3-5-1-1 system, despite the number of personnel changes this summer.
“We have decided to keep with this method. If there are Coaches who are imitating it then it means that it works. It will work if we have the right players.”
