Cagliari have yet again made it clear that they will not sell Davide Astori to Italian giants Milan this summer.
“Astori to the Rossoneri? Absolutely not,” was the brief response of Rossoblu President Massimo Cellino when asked about his star centre-back.
The Diavolo are looking for a new stopper following the decision to sell Thiago Silva to Paris Saint-Germain.
Astori, 25, is actually a product of the Milan youth system. He joined Cagliari in 2008 and rejected a big money move to Spartak Moscow earlier this month.
The defender was named in Italy’s preliminary 32-man squad for Euro 2012, but failed to make the final cut.
He has a contract in Sardinia until June 2015.
