Roma midfielder Fabio Simplicio insists he realised a lifelong ambition in scoring the winning goal in last night's derby in the Coppa Italia.
The 31-year-old Brazilian calmly slotted home Roma's second in a 2-1 win that sees his side reach the Quarter-Finals of the competition.
"A goal in the derby, but it's a dream," he said. "I dedicate it to my family in Brazil.
"I am happy. It's a dream. I have waited for this moment since I arrived here.
"I dreamed for a long time about a moment like this. It's magic.
"It was a great victory and a deserved one too in my opinion.
"We played in an intelligent way and hit Lazio at the right moment.
"I showed cunning. The Lazio players didn't see me and I suddenly came out of nowhere.
"Then I showed a cold-bloodedness in front of goal."
Simplicio's teammate Marco Borriello also had praise for Roma's performance, but claims the best is yet to come.
"It wasn't one of our best games," he said. "But we are concrete up front and the entrances of Menez and Vucinic gave us greater unpredictability."
