Genoa's new signing Mauro Boselli has already noticed an advance on Wigan Athletic. “It was too cold in England!”
The Argentine striker completed his transfer to Marassi this week despite an original delay due to a thigh injury.
“I left because it was too cold in England!” he declared. “Italian football is also closer to the kind we play in Argentina.
“I saw Genoa play ball to feet, always trying to go on the attack. This is the type of game that suits my characteristics.
“I am a striker and prefer to play as close to the penalty area as possible, but I am not a static centre-forward either.”
Boselli's move was almost abandoned when he failed a medical, but was then told he should recover from the thigh problem within two weeks.
“I hope to play for a few minutes this weekend against Parma,” he insisted.
