Bologna are back in crisis after the club's new President Massimo Zanetti announced his decision to resign from his post.
The owner of Segafredo, one of Italy's great coffee companies, only completed the takeover on December 20.
Earlier this week, it emerged that Bologna needed a further €7m to €8m in the next two months to save the club from bankruptcy.
A statement on the club's website written by Zanetti, read: "I note that my colleagues and I are not able to perform in a manner as satisfactorily as Bologna deserves."
Bologna have already been docked three points for financial irregularities and currently lie 16th in Serie A.
