Diego Simeone is confident Catania will be “ready” despite only having a few days to prepare for today's Serie A debut against Parma.
The former Inter and Lazio midfielder was drafted in on Wednesday to replace Marco Giampaolo.
“Parma are a side who attack strongly, are fast down the wings and have a great hitman in the box like Hernan Crespo,” said the Coach.
“It is going to be a difficult test and the time to prepare is limited, but we will make sure we are ready.”
The Elefantini have picked up just one win and a draw in their last six Serie A outings.
Simeone has pledged to adopt a more attacking 4-2-3-1 system, which should see Alejandro Gomez, Adrian Ricchiuti and Martinho supporting Maxi Lopez.
Absent due to injury are Cristian Terlizzi, Marco Biagianti, Alessandro Potenza, Cristian Llama and Mariano Izco.
Catania squad: Andujar, Campagnolo; Alvarez, Augustyn, Bellusci, Capuano, Marchese, Silvestre, Spolli; Carboni, Gomez, Ledesma, Martinho, Pesce, Ricchiuti, Sciacca; Antenucci, Mascara, Maxi Lopez, Morimoto
