Palermo player Nicolas Bertolo could be in big trouble after he was allegedly arrested for driving under the influence and attacking a policeman.
“The Rosanero club discovered in the last few minutes what apparently happened this morning to player Nicolas Bertolo,” read a statement.
“U.S. Citta di Palermo will, once ascertained what precisely occurred by hearing his version and that of the authorities, will decide how to proceed.”
It is widely reported the midfielder’s BMW was spotted driving erratically and on the wrong side of the road in the city in the early hours of this morning.
When a police car flashed its lights for him to stop, he allegedly sped off and when caught tried to attack a policeman.
The breathalyser reportedly had him well over the legal limit.
