Enzo Maresca could be making his return to Serie A with Sampdoria, as it’s reported he’ll leave Malaga this summer.
The 32-year-old midfielder has been away from Italian football for the last seven years due to spells at Sevilla, Olympiacos and Malaga.
The Spanish club has been put up for sale by Sheikh Abdulla bin Nasser Al Thani, despite their qualification for the Champions League.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Maresca will be one of the first to leave and Sampdoria are ready to snap him up.
However, it may well depend on whether Samp can release Angelo Palombo and Fernando Tissone first.
Maresca’s last Italian experience was with Fiorentina in 2004-05, preceded by spells at West Bromwich Albion, Juventus, Bologna and Piacenza.
