Genoa Coach Gigi De Canio is pleased with the “great team spirit” shown by his side despite their defeat to Levante. [12]
The Grifone were unlucky and hit the woodwork three times while missing countless other chances in last night’s 1-0 friendly loss.
“I am satisfied with the work we’ve done in pre-season and the responses I received,” said the tactician.
“I saw mostly positive aspects from the game with Levante, although of course we still need to improve in some respects.
“We played with a certain intensity, keeping in mind the heat and the level of fitness training we are at right now.
“I really liked the great team spirit on show. There was a sense of belonging, a clear idea in our minds of the kind of football we want to play and the willingness to work hard.
“This all forms a good foundation for the season, although we are naturally a work in progress.”
