Mauricio Isla sees similarities between himself and former Coach Marcelo Bielsa also inherent in his new Coach at Juventus, Antonio Conte.
Isla is working under Conte this pre-season following a summer transfer from Udinese and has been left impressed by his first few meetings with the tactician.
“I have the mentality of Marcelo Bielsa, my former Chile Coach, which is that of a culture of work,” reflected the versatile midfielder in Hurra Juventus.
“It might also be a coincidence, but the first thing Conte said was identical to what was said during my time under Bielsa. I don’t know him well enough yet, but Conte gives the feeling of getting the most out of his players. If you are good, you can become a champion with him. Plus, you are next to champions like Buffon, Pirlo, Chiellini, whilst there is also now the Juventus Stadium. I played there in the snow, but it conveyed a unique warmth.
“Where will I play under Conte? Last year I played inside for Udinese, covering the hole left by Gokhan Inler. I was good, but so far I have made the most out of being on the right wing both in a 3-5-2 and 3-4-3 when we also consider my national team.”
