Devis Mangia has named his first Italy Under-21 squad after replacing Ciro Ferrara in the role and calls up Lorenzo Insigne and Alessandro Florenzi.
Both youngsters impressed last term in Serie B at Pescara and Crotone respectively to earn returns to parent clubs Napoli and Roma this summer, and both are the notable names in Mangia’s first Under-21 squad.
The Azzurrini will make their debut under the former Palermo Coach a week today in a friendly against the Netherlands in Leeuwarden.
Mangia, who recently earned his UEFA Pro Licence from Coverciano before replacing Sampdoria-bound Ferrara in the FIGC hotseat, has handed first squad call-ups to Juventus’ Alberto Masi, Genoa’s Mario Sampirisi and Sassuolo’s Paolo Frascatore and Karim Laribi.
