Former Liverpool forward Ryan Babel could be set for a move to Fiorentina, says his agent Winnie Haatrecht.
The Hoffenheim player scored four goals in 31 appearances for his club last season, following a transfer from Liverpool in January 2011.
However, his future at the club is in doubt, amid rumours of a fallout with Coach Markus Babbel. Speaking to a Dutch newspaper, the player’s agent Haatrecht confirmed an escape might come in the form of Vincenzo Montella’s side.
“I’ve received permission from Hoffenheim to try and close the affair with Fiorentina,” the agent is quoted in the Dutch Press as saying.
“We’re in discussions but there’s no deal yet.”
A move to Florence would continue the robust transfer campaign that Fiorentina have been undergoing, bringing in the likes of Emiliano Viviano, Alberto Aquilani, Borja Valero, and Montella, the latter following a historic season as the Coach of Catania.
