Vincenzo Montella believes that Fiorentina goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano’s knee injury is not as serious as first feared.
However, where concern surrounds the apparent pain he appeared to be in and the fact it is the same knee he tore ligaments in just under a year ago, his Coach believes it is not a bad injury this time.
“With Viviano there seems to be nothing serious, but the doctor will surely be more accurate than me about that,” briefly offered the former Roma striker on Radio Blu, before turning his attention to the game.
“The match was difficult, we faced a strong opponent and the field was much wider than regulation measures, so we were uncomfortable.
“I am very pleased with the organisation of the team, especially in the first half. This was the first real match that the team faced this pre-season, but I can say that I have seen some good results.
“I am satisfied for what I have seen, the team has tried to play the ball along the ground and to create chances of a high quality.
“Certainly now we want continuity, which will be crucial for our physical preparation.
“Stevan Jovetic? I’ve seen better compared to his latest work.”
