Napoli have confirmed they will finalise a deal for Espanyol star Victor Ruiz “ some time tomorrow.”
The defender is thought to be preparing a move worth around €8.5m, coming from €6m cash and co-ownership of Argentine midfielder Jesus Datolo.
The official FIFA website even has Ruiz as already on Napoli's books.
“We don't have their level of certainty yet,” smiled director of sport Riccardo Bigon on Calciomercato.it.
“We are extremely close and within hours we could see a big development.
“I think, more than this evening, the decisive day will be Wednesday. We could finalise the deal some time tomorrow.”
The Napoli director also commented on rumours Fabiano Santacroce is heading to Lecce.
“It is true that Lecce are looking for him, but the problem is replacing Santacroce. It isn't so easy, considering Gianluca Grava is injured for the rest of the season and Sokratis Papastathopoulos is unlikely to leave Milan.”
