Modibo Diakite’s agent confirms they have failed to agree a new contract with Lazio, “but it’s not over yet.”
The Biancocelesti had reportedly set an ultimatum for the defender to sign a new five-year deal or make an exit this summer so they’d avoid losing him on a free agent next year.
“At the moment we do not have a contract agreement, it’s true, but that doesn’t mean it can’t come in the future,” Ulisse Savini told TMW.
“We are not evaluating other offers and I don’t think we will unless it represents something advantageous for us and for Lazio.
“Besides, the contract doesn’t expire until June 2013, so it’s not over yet.”
Diakitè has been linked with Juventus.
