The representative of Andrea Poli has confirmed that Juventus are talking with Sampdoria about his client.
The new Italian international midfielder is back at Doria after spending last season on loan with Inter.
The Nerazzurri were expected to take up their option to sign him outright, but no deal could be agreed with the newly promoted outfit.
Juventus were subsequently linked, but, again, agreeing terms with the Marassi outfit is proving to be problematic.
“There have been talks with Juventus,” Giovanni Branchini told Sport Italia. “There is certainly some truth in the stories, but we are just on stand-by.
“Nevertheless, even if a deal isn’t done and the player remains at Sampdoria then we would be just as happy.”
Poli is highly rated by Juventus directors Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici as they were responsible for his capture during their days at Sampdoria.
