Manolo Gabbiadini has completed his transfer to the Stadio Dall’Ara via Juventus. “Other teams wanted me, but I preferred Bologna.”
The striker was owned by Atalanta, but Juve bought him outright on Friday and immediately loaned him out to the Rossoblu.
“I wanted to have a new experience,” said the Under-21 international who was recently given his first senior Italy cap.
“I wasn’t getting much playing time in Bergamo, but at the same time I felt a little too comfortable. I preferred to leave so I could concentrate completely on my football, which is why I came here.
“Other teams wanted me, but I preferred Bologna. I really like the players who are here and everyone speaks very highly of Coach Stefano Pioli.
“Besides, teams from the Emilia-Romagna region have always brought me luck, as three years ago I made my Serie A debut in Parma and scored my first top flight goal against Bologna.”
Juventus also announced that they have signed a co-ownership deal with Atalanta for Australian midfielder James Troisi.
The 24-year-old was a free agent after his contract with Turkish side Kayserispor expired and will spend this season in Bergamo.
