Sebastien Frey is happy that Genoa got their season off win a win after last term’s problems at the Stadio Ferraris.
The Rossoblu only ensured Serie A safety on the final day of 2011-12, but beat Cagliari on Sunday with goals from Alexander Merkel and Ciro Immobile.
“It was crucial to start this term in the right manner,” the former Inter and Fiorentina goalkeeper told Sky Sport Italia.
“We worked very hard over the summer and we are happy that we collected a victory on the opening day.”
Frey had a mixed first season with the Rossoblu, but he is adamant that he can make a difference for the port outfit.
“I know how much I am worth and how much I can give,” he continued. “I’ll always give my all for this shirt – as I did last season.”
