Udinese defender Mehdi Benatia has pulled out of international duty with Morocco after picking up an injury.
“I am unable to answer the call-up for my national team,” he explained on Twitter.
“I have a problem with my thigh adductor and it will take around 8-10 days to recover. Obviously, I am very disappointed.”
The defender had been called to take part in the match with Mozambique on September 9.
Udinese are nonetheless confident Benatia will be ready for the next Serie A game against Siena on September 16.
The Friulani have started the season with two defeats and a painful Champions League play-off exit.
