Goals from strikers Giuseppe De Luca and Ciro Immobile within the first half hour saw Italy assert their dominance.
Milan’s Stephan El Shaarawy poured salt on Liechtenstein’s wounds with a brace completed in between a Federico Viviani strike that came just before the interval.
Jacopo Sala converted a spot-kick after replacing the half Egyptian with 10 minutes left to play. Azzurrini Coach Denis Mangia’s side ran out comfortable winners, keeping a clean sheet in the process.
