Hugo Maradona, the brother of Napoli legend Diego, has revealed his ambition to one day Coach the Azzurri.
Speaking with Radio CRC on Monday, the 43-year-old – who played for Ascoli in the 1987-88 campaign – is eyeing one of the top jobs in Serie A.
“My wife is Neapolitan and we came back to the city three months ago,” Hugo noted. “While here I was offered the chance to Coach some kids and I accepted.
“I’ve come to this city to stay. I want to learn about Italian football and take all of the steps necessary to then work in the Italian top flight. I’m in no rush as I want to learn the ropes.
“Could I one day boss Napoli? Anything can happen. I like Napoli, they are playing well even if it is too soon to predict the outcome of the championship.
“I go to the stadium to watch a game at every possible opportunity.”
Diego Maradona is still revered at the port club following his arrival from Barcelona in 1984. He guided Napoli to their first ever championship in 1987 and then again in 1990.
