Fiorentina midfielder Alberto Aquilani will be out for two weeks, the club have confirmed via a statement on their official website.
Earlier today it was reported that the former Liverpool man would be fit to make his first Viola start against Catania this weekend. However the Gigliati have now announced that after a visit to achilles specialist Nicola Maffulli in London, Aquilani will be unavailable for another fortnight.
He is the second Italian international midfielder to receive news of a 14 day lay-off today, after former Roma colleague Daniele De Rossi.
