Angelo Palombo could be reintegrated into the Sampdoria side after he reportedly accepted to renegotiate his contract.
The midfielder had been frozen out of boss Ciro Ferrara’s plans after the club failed to offload him during the summer.
Doria were keen to get the former Fiorentina man off their wage bill seeing as he was their highest paid player on €1.5m a season.
According to reports, Palombo has agreed to a pay-cut in return for a longer contract at Marassi.
The Italian international will now net around €800,000 a campaign until June 2017.
