Inter President Massimo Moratti was left impressed with the 2-1 victory over Fiorentina on Sunday night.
“That was the best performance of the season by us so far, without a doubt,” the oil baron noted on Monday afternoon.
“We had a good first half where we could have actually gone into the break 4-1 up and we could have scored a further goal in the second half.
“A cautious second period from us? That was the right way to play the game. And I don’t think the fact that we had not won at home yet this season was on the players’ minds.”
The Beneamata are now third in the table after four wins and two defeats from six games. They are four points adrift of leaders Juventus and Napoli.
