Lazio’s Antonio Candreva feels he’s now ready to become a stable part of the Italian national set-up.
The midfielder has been recalled to the Giro Azzurro, almost three years after winning two caps for Marcello Lippi.
“I was young when I first got into the squad,” stated the 25-year-old. “But I am now back with a lot more experience.”
Candreva joined the capital club in January and, after initial difficulties, he’s become a key player for the Biancocelesti.
“I’m happy to be in the squad and that is mainly down to boss Vladimir Petkovic,” continued the former Juventus man.
“He’s got the best qualities out of me. I’ve been around a few clubs over recent years and I needed continuity.
“My position? I’ve been used out wide on the left and right and I like being played in that role.”
