Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Montella is refusing to comment on Zdenek Zeman’s decision to drop Daniele De Rossi at the weekend.
Montella is a former teammate and Coach of the midfielder in the capital, but he didn’t want to be drawn into the fallout from Week 7.
“I’m happy that I don’t have to deal with a similar situation, so I therefore don’t want to get involved,” noted Montella.
“Despite the fact that I am very attached to the Giallorossi, I’m an outsider in this affair and that’s the way I want it to stay.”
De Rossi was omitted from the starting line-up by Zeman along with Nicolas Burdisso and Pablo Daniel Osvaldo.
Zeman intimated that his reasons for their exclusion were based on how they had trained during the week before the 2-0 win over Atalanta.
