Former Lazio player Stefano Fiore says he understands why Antonio Candreva is winning comparisons with him.
“I do see myself in him in terms of our tactical journeys,” the ex-midfielder, who spent three years in the capital, told Radio Mana.
“Under Vladimir Petkovic at Lazio, like me with Roberto Mancini, he is being used on the right hand side of the midfield despite not having those authentic characteristics.
“I often disagreed with Roberto about my role in the team because I preferred to be used in a more central position, but it was all OK in the end.”
Candreva has been a revelation at the Stadio Olimpico and his return to form has seen him recalled to the Italian international squad.
The 25-year-old has scored twice in nine League games so far this season.
