Milan’s Stephan El Shaarawy, who is today being linked with Real Madrid, could become the second youngest Serie A top scorer if he wins the Capocannoniere crown this season.
The forward is currently leading the scoring charts thanks to his seven goals in 10 games for the Diavolo.
Juventus legend Giampiero Boniperti is the youngest single season top scorer thanks to his 27 goals in 1947-48 when he was 19-years-old.
Second in the list is Milan’s Pierino Prati and then Bologna’s Harald Nielsen for their exploits in the 1967-68 and 1962-63 seasons respectively. They were both 21.
El Shaarawy, now a full Italian international, only celebrated his 20th birthday last Saturday.
Meanwhile, Tuttosport is suggesting that Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has asked his scouts to check out the talent.
The former Genoa and Padova man, who has an Egyptian father, has shouldered the burden of attacking responsibility following the departures of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to PSG and Antonio Cassano to Inter.
