Weekend dismissals have seen Mattia Destro suspended for Roma’s next match and Napoli’s Coach Walter Mazzarri fined €10,000.
Mazzarri was sent from the dugout late on in his side’s 1-1 draw with Torino at the weekend for ‘repeatedly leaving the technical area despite earlier calls, with repeated recurrence’ and for that receives the five-figure penalty and a warning over future conduct.
Destro matched his first goal in a Roma shirt with a red card this weekend and subsequently has had a one-match ban confirmed by FIGC today, as have Cesare Bovo of Genoa and Maurizio Domizzi of Udinese.
Meanwhile, both Juventus and Inter have been handed fines for the behaviour of their supporters during the two sides’ clash at the weekend.
Juve have been hit with a €50,000 fine for a 10-minute period in the second half in which a number of cardboard projectiles were thrown towards goalline referees Orsato. Play was briefly halted when he was struck by one of the balls of sellotaped paper.
The Nerazzurri picked up a €35,000 fine after supporters attacked a Juve fan with a large piece of plastic broken from a doorframe at the premises’ toilets, and for displaying two banners that were ‘offensive towards their opposing team and manager’.
