Milan defender Luca Antonini has claimed that the inspirational words of Silvio Berlusconi last week gave the motivation required to beat Juventus.
The Rossoneri claimed a 1-0 win over Antonio Conte's side on Sunday, and the 30-year-old is certain that the speech made by the President at the training ground was a factor in them getting three points.
“Berlusconi's words were important for our performance,” he told reporters at Milan Store today. “He came to Milanello and gave us the stimulation needed.”
He also commented on the team's performance against the Bianconeri and his recovery from injury that has kept him out since the beginning of November.
“It was certainly not easy to get a result against Juventus,” he said. “They had come from a good win versus Chelsea, but my teammates did a fantastic job.
“I love playing for this club and hope to return soon.”
