Alessandro Del Piero has a new Coach after Frank Farina was named as the boss of Sydney FC.
The 48-year-old, with a brief playing past at Bari, replaces Ian Crook after he resigned earlier on in the campaign.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for me,” the former striker noted. “There are some very good players at this club, a few I’ve already worked with.”
The Sky Blues, despite the presence of Juventus legend Del Piero, are struggling in the A-League after losing their last four games.
Farina will make his debut on Sunday when Sydney FC, who are bottom of the ladder, host Melbourne Heart.
Del Piero has five goals so far this season.
