Genoa Coach Gigi Del Neri faces his past this afternoon when Chievo and his old captain Eugenio Corini come to Marassi.
Del Neri first found fame with Chievo in 2000, taking them to their first ever promotion into Serie A and even qualifying for Europe.
His star midfielder at the time was Corini, who is now the Coach of the Flying Donkeys.
“Chievo are a strong and professional club, that is clear for all to see,” said Del Neri.
“I am happy that Corini has taken on this type of career. You could tell when he was playing that he had management in his DNA.”
Genoa finally ended their run of six consecutive defeats with a shock win away to Atalanta last week.
“I have few doubts on who I will field. My principle objective is to pick the most balanced side. I have seen signs of improvement and the win in Bergamo was proof.”
