Milan have confirmed Nigel De Jong snapped the Achilles tendon in his left leg and will be out for five to six months.
The Dutch midfielder went down 22 minutes into today’s 4-2 Serie A victory away to Torino  and immediately made gestures towards the bench that it was a serious problem.
Initial reports of damage to the Achilles tendon was confirmed this afternoon and he will be out of action for approximately five to six months.
De Jong had only joined from Manchester City in the summer, but will now be sidelined for the rest of the season.
