Palermo “are working on” a transfer for Napoli defender Salvatore Aronica, confirmed President Maurizio Zamparini.
The patron spoke to Radio Kiss Kiss this afternoon and explained the situation for Palermo-born Aronica.
“We had already talked about Aronica, as last year he wanted to come back to Palermo. We are working on it, but I’m not sure at what stage the negotiations are at right now.
“Aronica would be very useful for us, particularly on a psychological level, as he has fought for top objectives for many years, while at the moment we have players who were relegated last term.
“I have also heard reports of Michel Morganella going to Napoli, but I can say that Palermo need to sign players, not sell them.”
Zamparini also commented on the future of Coach Gian Piero Gasperini, who replaced Giuseppe Sannino after just three rounds.
“He is a great Coach and will stay with us for many years.”
