Siena have confirmed that Giuseppe Iachini has been hired after the club opted to show Serse Cosmi the exit.
The 4-1 loss at Fiorentina on Sunday saw the latter axed and thus opened the door for the former Chievo and Brescia boss to get another crack at Serie A.
“I’m accustomed to doing my talking on the pitch,” Iachini noted. “I’ll give my best and all of my enthusiasm in order to achieve safety.
“I thank the club for their faith in me. We’ll look to add a building block to our survival plans on a daily basis.”
President Massimo Mezzaroma said: “I took the decision to change Coach after the defeat in Florence because I firmly believe in my players and our chances of staying up.”
The Tuscan outfit, who started the season with a six-point penalty, are bottom of the table – four points away from safety.
