“The ideological conflict between Inter and Juventus is beyond repair,” said former Bianconeri President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli.
He was at the helm during the Calciopoli scandal when the so-called Triade of directors were forced to step down.
“In the context that Juve found themselves in, we were able to emerge from the situation gracefully,” he told Radio Sportiva.
“We were penalised by demotion to Serie B, but got back into the top flight immediately and that wasn't so easy.”
Inter have dominated Serie A since the 2006 scandal, although Juve have stated they could sue to have the stripped Scudetti handed back in the wake of a new trial.
“The ideological conflict between Inter and Juventus is beyond repair,” warned Cobolli Gigli.
“Quite apart from the respect they might have during games, these are two adversaries and two sets of fans who cannot stand each other.”
