Siena visit San Siro this afternoon and new Coach Beppe Iachini demands the elimination of “dips in concentration that cost us against Napoli.”
The tactician was brought in last month to replace Serse Cosmi and begins 2013 against the Rossoneri. Click here for a match preview.
“Milan are a very strong squad who have found their identity. I don’t think they are weakened by absentees, because they have so much strength in depth,” said Iachini.
“I don’t believe they are distracted by the Coppa Italia Quarter-Final with Juventus either. They are a very tough side to break down.
“We must be wary not to let ourselves get taken by surprise with those dips in concentration that cost us against Napoli,” he said of the late 2-0 defeat.
“I am taking care of every little detail and like my team to have a precise identity. We want to consolidate our certainties and improve on our defects.”
Top scorer Emanuele Calaiò is suspended, while Neto and Gaetano D’Agostino are linked with moves to Napoli and Pescara respectively.
“I told my players not to get distracted by transfer gossip, as they must give their all to take Siena to safety.
“I have spoken to the club and by the end of the month we are going to have a competitive squad capable of staying in Serie A.”
