Lazio defender Modibo Diakite is to be offered a new contract by the club within the next few days, according to reports.

Lazio defender Modibo Diakite is to be offered a new contract by the club within the next few days, according to reports.

The 25-year-old is out of contract in the summer and has caught the interest of Inter and Juventus to name just a few.

But Calcio News believe that President Claudio Lotito is to table a proposed new deal for the centre-back with a reported annual salary of €1m.

Diakite has played just one game for the team this season having only just returned from a serious shin injury.
