Italian referee Emidio Morganti will watch the next two rounds of Serie A from home after his performance in Palermo-Juventus.
The official turned down a number of Juve penalty appeals in midweek, including a blatant hand-ball from Palermo's Cesare Bovo.
Having been criticised yesterday by Marcello Nicchi, the President of the Referees' Association, Morganti is set to be 'rested'.
Morganti will be ruled out of action for at least two matches, but there is a possibility that may be extended to three.
It is also unlikely that Morganti, who was recently handed an Oscar for being last term's top referee, will take charge of any more Juve games this term.
