Stephan El Shaarawy has urged Milan to now focus on Serie A following their Italian Cup exit to Juventus on Wednesday.
The young Italian international gave his side the lead at the Juventus Stadium, but they eventually lost the quarter-final tie 2-1 after extra-time .
“We played a good game and created a lot of chances,” said the forward. “I’m happy with the goal and the performance.
“We held our own well and defended well. We didn’t concede any really big chances, but they did well technically – especially when Mirko Vucinic came on and then scored.”
The Montenegrin international, just like he did last March, came off the bench to net the crucial qualification goal in extra-time.
“Their second came from a bit of an unlucky deflection for us,” the former Genoa attacker added. “It’s a disappointing loss, but now we have to think about Sampdoria.
“Now we have to get back to work because we have a fundamental game on Sunday in order to stay in touch with the top spots in the table.”
