Sampdoria are in talks with the agent of Mauro Icardi regarding a new improved contract at Marassi.
The 19-year-old hit the headlines on Sunday when his brace ensured a win for 10-man Doria at leaders Juventus.
Amid interest from clubs such as Roma and Inter, Samp are keen to tie down the Argentine striker at the Stadio Ferraris.
Icardi reportedly earns €200,000 a campaign and is contracted to the club until June 2015. Negotiations have begun regarding a new agreement until 2017.
Samp, according to Il Secolo XIX, have offered him €300,000 a term, but the player is asking for €400,000 instead.
Another meeting between the two parties could take place on Saturday.
